FAQ

How old must my child be to enroll in dance classes?

We offer independent dance classes for students ages three and up.  All children entering our classes must be potty-trained before enrolling. At various times, we offer “Mommy and Me” classes for younger children ages two and up.  Please sign up for our newsletter to be notified of those classes.

Can I watch my child dance during class?

In order to provide a high functioning and comfortable atmosphere for all of our students, we ask that parents remain in the waiting room during dance classes.  We do offer observation days in all of our studios twice a year for parents to view their child’s class.

Can I leave the studio during my child’s dance class?

Yes, you are welcome to drop your dancer off for class, depending on their comfort and independence level. Our Teaching Assistants are available in class to help with bathroom breaks, shoe assistance, etc.

What does my child need to wear for dance classes?

Please see our dress code for a description of dance attire.

Do you have boys in your dance classes?

YES!  We have many boys who take dance classes.  We offer classes with male instructors and provide special performance opportunities for boys as well.  Everyone is welcome at BDT!

Do you do a year end show?

Yes, each  June we hold an annual production to showcase our dancers and their development over the year.  We pride ourselves on producing a “Broadway-style” event that is enjoyable for our dancers, their families, and all audience members.  All registered students will receive detailed information about the performance mid school-year, and all information will be available on the  studio notices page for easy reference.

Is participation in the annual production mandatory?

Participation in our annual production is NOT mandatory; however we encourage all students to be part of this exciting event. The production provides closure for the school year, cultivating a sense of accomplishment and pride in individual and classroom successes. Students opting not to participate are welcome to continue classes throughout the school year; those individuals will not be excluded from class.
