Naina Dewan

Naina Dewan is a Licensed Dance Teacher, Choreographer, and Certified Alexander Technique Teacher (kinesthetic education). A Berkshires native, Naina has studied dance for 25 years, including Ballet, Modern Dance, Improvisation, Latin Dance, Flamenco, African Dance, and Indian Dance. She has performed with the Albany/Berkshire Ballet, Marya Kennett Ballet Theatre, Geneseo Dance Ensemble, Sharon Fogarty Dance Theatre, Playworks Dance Company, and with choreographers Emily Fraenkel and Jody Sperling, as well as at the Jacob’s Pillow International Improvisation Festival, the Philadelphia Fringe Festival, and the New York Dance Now! Festival. She has taught at the Valley School of Dance in Geneseo, NY and Hillcrest Educational Centers in Lenox, MA. Naina has choreographed for the Geneseso Dance Ensemble, the NYC songwriter/performer Neaphyte, and Barrington Stage Company.  Naina earned her B.A. in Psychology from the State University of New York at Geneseo, her Alexander Technique Teacher Certification from the American Center for the Alexander Technique in New York City, and has been a graduate student in Clinical Social Work and Education at New York University and MCLA.  Naina joined the faculty of Berkshire Dance Theatre in Sept. 2010 and became the Student Affairs Manager in Feb. 2011.
